Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital Didactic Curriculum

The resident clinical experience is enhanced by a didactic curriculum on Tuesday afternoon when there are no scheduled clinical duties, which is based on the Council for Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) Educational Objectives. There is also a variety of hands-on anatomy labs, surgical skills labs and simulation training exercises offered throughout the year. Prior to the annual residency training in-service exam, there is a review lecture series.

Some aspects of the didactic curriculum are:

  • Obstetric board rounds (daily)
  • Gynecologic patient/board rounds (daily)
  • Gynecology case conference (weekly)
  • Obstetrics case conference (weekly)
  • Didactic lecture series based on CREOG objectives (weekly)

  • Journal club (bi-monthly)
  • Pelvic Anatomy Lab (quarterly)
