Policy on Access to Medical Students’ Educational Records

Policy

It is the policy of McGovern Medical School that medical students’ educational records, maintained by the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs, will be made available to authorized individuals.

Faculty members involved in teaching pre-clinical and clinical courses are permitted to review a student’s educational record for the purposes of preparing a letter of reference/recommendation or for review for consideration for membership or induction into national honor societies. Faculty requesting such review must submit their signature and reason for request. A log of approved access is maintained. The educational record cannot be removed from the office.

Students may view their educational record at any time by request in the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs. The educational record cannot be removed from the office.
