Dr. Ellsworth, a pediatric infectious disease specialist, is a physician leader we can all be thankful to have leading us through the endless unknowns we’ve encountered during the past nine months. She’s the type of person who wakes up each morning and checks the status of the world’s health, understanding what threats are out there today and which ones are coming. When questions or concerns arise, Dr. Ellsworth takes the time to explain things, to teach things. Despite how busy she stays in our current environment, she constantly engages with other physicians and staff across the Campus. Especially through the COVID-19 pandemic, she not only made sure we had our “medical” questions answered, she also made sure we had our personal questions, doubts and fears addressed, as well. Dr. Ellsworth has repeatedly demonstrated her credibility and expertise in helping us make the best decisions possible in an ever-changing environment. This is on top of her non-stop work to support our teams in continuing to provide safe, high-quality care, and prevent hospital-acquired infections and surgical site infections. Even in this most challenging year, with Dr. Ellsworth’s leadership we have protected the health of our staff, our patients and have made a significant impact on the overall health of our community.
