- Lisa's clinical interests are in caring for critically ill children and their families.
Lisa joined the Department in 2007 as an Instructor and has been a registered nurse practicing in acute care pediatrics for over 15 years. She received her undergraduate degree from University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette, LA and completed her Masters Degree at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN with an acute care pediatric nurse practitioner focus. She gained experience working at the bedside in the pediatric intensive care unit and pediatric emergency department as a registered nurse. Lisa was instrumental in the development of the Division of Pediatric Trauma Nurse Practitioners at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston/Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital and is the Division Director. Lisa is a board certified Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and is a Fellow of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners, Chair Elect of the Advanced Practice Nursing Professional Development Committee (SCCM), Committee Member of the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board, and member of the American Pediatric Surgical Nurses Association and Society of Critical Care Medicine
