Cigarette smoking continues to be a significant public health issue in the United States. The introduction of e-cigarettes in the past decade has resulted in myriad of both positive and negative feeling and responses.

On one hand, some fear that e-cigarettes may usher in a new generation of people addicted to nicotine. On the other hand, some see e-cigarettes as potential answer for individuals that can’t stop smoking traditional cigarettes.

At the 11th Annual Psychiatry Update Conference, Jin Yoon, PhD, will provide an overview of how e-cigarettes work, how they have changed over time, and highlight some of the important health-related issues and concerns regarding e-cigarettes, including recent cases concerning lung damage linked to e-cigarettes.
