Jason James, MD, is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist and clinical assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He is also the director of Child and Adolescent Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. In addition, James serves as a psychiatrist for the PATH program team, which treats children and adolescents with chronic or complex medical issues that are complicated by emotional and behavioral challenges. His clinical expertise in balancing psychotherapy and medication management services for children and adolescents. He also specializes in the treatment of co-morbid psychiatric and medical issues in younger patients.
James received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and went on to complete his general psychiatry residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was a child and adolescent psychiatry fellow at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston from 2013-2015 and was chief resident his last year. Since joining the Department as faculty in 2015, he continues to be in the teaching and mentorship of the child and adolescent fellows.
