Andrea N. Taylor, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, whose clinical interests include anxiety, depression, individuals coping with health issues, grief, women’s health issues, and stress. Her primary treatment orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). As a licensed psychologist, she also has training and experience with Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Analysis Systems of Psychotherapy.
Dr. Taylor sees patients age 18 and older. She believes in thoroughly listening to her patients so that their needs and concerns can be heard. She considers herself to be a people builder and tries to help patients utilize their existing strengths, while also teaching new approaches and tools that can be utilized to decrease distressing symptoms while enhancing quality of life and functioning.
She is an active member of several professional organizations including Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, Society of Behavioral Medicine and Houston Psychological Association where she serves as a Board Member. When she is not caring for her patients, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading mysteries, and learning Spanish.
