Early bird registration closes July 1 for the joint meeting of the 9th Biennial Conference of the International Society of Affective Disorders (ISAD) and the 2018 Houston Mood Disorders Conference.

Registration is now open for the joint meeting of the 9th Biennial Conference of the International Society of Affective Disorders (ISAD) and the 2018 Houston Mood Disorders Conference to be held on Sept. 20-22, hosted by the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School.
This event, titled “From Treatment Resistance to Recovery in Affective Disorders” and held at McGovern Medical School, welcomes some of the best minds at the forefront of psychiatry and neuroscience to address the challenges of treatment-resistant affective disorders and explore the most recent advances in treatment. Consisting of keynote presentations, parallel symposia, and a poster session, the conference will discuss clinically relevant findings on topics such as neuromodulation, pharmacogenomics, biomarkers, and other cutting-edge therapeutics, providing valuable updates in a rapidly changing environment.
Internationally recognized for their significant contributions and breakthrough discoveries, speakers will offer fresh perspectives and new insights into these complex cases to improve treatment outcomes. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to network with leading clinician-scientists from around the world, who have been ranked as top researchers for publishing the greatest number of highly cited papers.

Daskalakis, M.D., Ph.D., F.R.C.P.(C), professor of psychiatry at the University of Toronto and Temerty Chair in Therapeutic Brain Intervention at Centre for Addiction and Mental Health; Sanjay Mathew, M.D., professor and Marjorie Bintliff Johnson and Raleigh White Johnson, Jr. Chair for Research in Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine; Trisha Suppes, M.D., Ph.D., professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Stanford University; Madhukar Trivedi, M.D., professor, Betty Jo Hay Distinguished Chair in Mental Health and Julie K. Hersh Chair for Depression Research and Clinical Care at UT Southwestern Medical Center; Karen Wagner, M.D., Ph.D., professor and chair of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch; and Allan Young, M.B. Ch.B., M.Phil., Ph.D., F.R.C.Psych., F.R.C.P.C., F.R.S.B., professor and chair of mood disorders at King’s College London.
ISAD is a partner organization with McGovern Medical School and an international psychiatric organization that exists to promote research into the affective disorders through all relevant scientific disciplines, including genetics, neuroscience, and the social and behavioral sciences.
This continuing education program is offered to faculty, students, alumni, educators, and other professionals who work with mental health issues. Trainees, including residents, postdoctoral research fellows, and psychology interns are encouraged to attend as well. Early bird registration closes July 1.
