Dr. Oldham has numerous interests in Diagnostic Imaging. Main clinical areas of interest include interstitial lung disease, high resolution CT of the chest, bronchogenic carcinoma diagnosis and staging, CTPA (CT Pulmonary angiography) to detect pulmonary emboli, congenital abnormalities of lung and lung manifestations of immunosuppression. She is also very interested in maintaining quality control and as low a dose of radiation as possible with chest radiographs and CTs.
As Radiology residency program director and Vice-Chair for Education in the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging, Dr. Oldham is also very interested in introducing medical students to Radiology, regardless of whether they are thinking of going into Radiology or not. Improving the teaching of radiology to medical students and residents is another area of interest, including re-structuring conferences to allow medical students and residents to be active participants in their education rather than passive learners, encouraging them to take unknown cases during conference rather than conferences being strictly didactic.
