Instagram Takeover

On Friday, Oct. 14, the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine will take over the McGovern Medical School Instagram account, providing an inside look at the day-to-day life of a pathology research scientist to subscribers of the social media channel.

The Instagram Takeover featuring the pathology and laboratory medicine team will be the first of a new series for McGovern Medical School, which will highlight behind-the-scenes photos and videos of various laboratories on campus.

Tune in throughout the day to learn various techniques and procedures used for pathology research, including flash freezing, slide review, and biopsies. Followers will also learn how technology is playing a role in the advancement of pathology and how McGovern Medical School pathologists are teaching students who will become future colleagues.

Featured content can be found throughout the day by watching the “stories” on the McGovern Medical School Instagram Page, @McGovernMed. Stories can be found at the top of the Instagram app on your smartphone, with each subsequent post refreshing the McGovern Medical School profile to the front of the list for your stories.

To prepare for the Lab Takeover, be sure to give the McGovern Medical School Instagram a follow, and don’t forget to follow the Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and new LinkedIn page as well. If your lab is interested in being featured as part of a Lab Takeover, email Roman Petrowski, senior communication specialist, at Roman.W.Petrowski@uth.tmc.edu for more information.
