The OREF Southwest Resident Research Symposium

Walter R. Lowe, MD, Professor and Chair of Orthopaedic Surgery, and William C. McGarvey, MD, Professor and Vice-Chair of Orthopaedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School and UTHealth Houston, are pleased to invite you to the 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺. With support from the 𝗢𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗮𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗢𝗥𝗘𝗙), this event will unite residency programs across Texas and Louisiana for a day of academic excellence and collaboration.

This symposium features four moderated sessions and will be awarding a total of seven monetary prizes, including a 1st place award of $1,000. The 1st place winner will represent our region at the national virtual event this November, with the national winner being honored at AAOS 2025 in San Diego.
