Training Program & Accreditation Requests
New Training Programs
- All new programs (ACGME, TMB, Specialty Board, Societies, etc.) must complete the Request for New Program Form (NI Intranet → Resources → Request Forms).
- Attach Program Director CV and submit signed form to [email protected].
- Request reviewed by GME Subcommittee → Forwarded to GMEC for approval.
- After GMEC approval:
- ACGME Programs: GME initiates ADS application.
- TMB Programs: Complete TMB application (Part 1 & 2) and send to GME.
- GME adds program to New Innovations after accreditor approval.
ACGME New Application Process
- GMEC Approval: Submit request to GME ≥3 months before RRC deadline.
- Application reviewed by DIO & GME Director; multiple drafts may be needed.
- ACGME Review Committee (RRC): Meets 2–3 times per year; deadlines on ACGME website.
- ADS Application Checklist:
- Common application (in ADS)
- Specialty-specific application (upload)
- Required attachments: block diagram, PLAs, policies, goals/objectives, evaluations
- Timeline: 4–12 months for accreditation decision.
ADS Access
- Coordinators may be added to ADS by:
- Program Director, or
- Institutional Coordinators (Brenda Moncivaiz / Grizelda Cavazos).
Complement Increases
- Permanent: Complete Complement Increase Request Form (NI Intranet) and submit to [email protected]. Enter request in ADS → Program tab → Complement Change → Submit to DIO.
- Temporary (<90 days): As of Dec 11, 2023, no formal submission required.
- Temporary (>90 days): Requires DIO approval & ADS submission.
Participating Site Requests
- Required when a rotation ≥1 month (4 weeks).
- Complete Participating Site Request Form (NI Intranet).
- Submit to GME → Reviewed by Executive Subcommittee → Added to GMEC agenda.
- If site not in ADS, GME requests addition before program updates site list.
