Dr. Anthony Estrera Receives Two Awards at the Texas Surgical Society 208th Meeting

Congratulations to Anthony Estrera, MD, professor and chair, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, for receiving two awards at the 210th Texas Surgical Society meeting.

Dr. Estrera received a Bowie knife for the “Sharpest and Most Cutting Edge Discussion,” as well as a “Best Discussant” plaque, presented to him by the Society’s current President, Dr. Shannon Smith.

Dr. Estrera served as the 106th President of the Texas Surgical Society in 2022. He holds the Hazim J. Safi, MD, Distinguished Chair in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery and is an integral part of the UTHealth Houston Heart & Vascular team.
