Adding an element of excitement, the symposium also featured a friendly game of Shock Jeopardy, where residents and fellows showcased their expertise, culminating in a thrilling victory for Team Texas 1 (comprised of trainees from Baylor College of Medicine and Houston Methodist) winning by a single point.
First Annual Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Summit
The inaugural Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Summit saw an impressive turnout of over 300 attendees, demonstrating the symposium’s commitment to fostering multidisciplinary collaboration. Presenters delved into critical aspects of shock patient care both in the ICU and beyond, exploring the journey of shock survivors outside the ICU and paving the way for enhanced patient outcomes. Topics covered a spectrum of vital areas, including drug selection in cardiogenic shock, management strategies for right ventricular failure on Impella 5.5, and the role of palliative care in supporting patients through their journey. The event provided valuable insights and contributed to the advancement of patient care in shock management.
