First- and second-year students from the UTHealth Houston Master of Science in Anesthesia (MSA) Program proudly participated in the 2026 Annual Conference of the American Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants (AAAA), held in Denver, Colorado.
The UTHealth Houston delegation was led by MSA Program leadership, including Naveen Vanga, MD, Medical Director; Charlie Phung, CAA, Program Director; Chaveli Licata, CAA, Assistant Program Director; and Nina Wen, CAA, Assistant Program Director—demonstrating the program’s strong commitment to academic and clinical excellence.
A highlight of the conference was the outstanding presentation by MSA second year student, Kenda Huneiti, a poster presentation finalist, whose work sparked meaningful discussion and drew significant engagement from attendees. Kenda represented the program with confidence and professionalism, thoughtfully addressing questions and showcasing the caliber of UTHealth Houston MSA students.
Throughout the conference, students actively participated in educational sessions and hands-on workshops designed to advance clinical knowledge and professional development. The event also provided valuable opportunities for networking with peers, faculty, and industry leaders, as well as engagement in social events that strengthen connections within the anesthesiology community.
The UTHealth Houston MSA Program was further represented through its exhibitor booth, attracting prospective applicants and increasing program visibility. In addition, the industry expo offered students exposure to the latest innovations in anesthesia-related products, technology, and software.
This experience was both enriching and memorable, and we are incredibly proud of our students and faculty for representing UTHealth Houston with excellence.
