Matthew E. Jordan, MD, is a fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgeon in Atascocita and North Houston. He also serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston (external link). Dr. Jordan specializes in conditions of the hand, wrist, and elbow. He provides individualized, innovative, and patient-centered orthopedic care. His goal is to deliver predictable outcomes. Above all, he helps patients return to an active, healthy lifestyle as safely and efficiently as possible.
Dr. Jordan is a Texas native who grew up in Conroe. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Trinity University in San Antonio. He then received his medical degree from the University of Texas in the Texas Medical Center. After medical school, he completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Texas A&M/Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. He later returned to Houston for fellowship training in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.
Throughout his training, Dr. Jordan cared for athletes at every level. These ranged from high school competitors to professional players. As a result, he treats both acute injuries and chronic conditions of the hand, wrist, and elbow. When appropriate, he uses minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques. However, he also performs complex reconstructive procedures when needed.
His clinical expertise includes carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, ganglion cysts, Dupuytren’s disease, and thumb arthritis. He also treats hand fractures, tendon injuries, nail bed injuries, and sports-related hand trauma. In addition, he manages wrist conditions such as distal radius fractures, scaphoid fractures, TFCC tears, De Quervain’s tenosynovitis, and wrist arthritis. He frequently incorporates advanced wrist arthroscopy to support recovery.
Dr. Jordan also provides comprehensive elbow care. He treats tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, biceps tendon tears, radial and ulnar nerve compression, elbow stiffness, and traumatic injuries. When indicated, he performs Tommy John surgery, elbow arthroscopy, and total elbow replacement.
