Rohan Bhimani, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at UTHealth Houston.
He is a fellowship-trained orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon in Cypress, Texas. His expertise includes complex deformity correction, total ankle replacement, minimally invasive techniques, fracture management, and sports-related foot and ankle injuries. With an evidence-based approach, he combines advanced research, surgical innovation, and team collaboration to help patients restore mobility and function.
Dr. Bhimani earned his medical degree from Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College in Pune, India. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College and Ruby Hall Clinic. He then pursued subspecialty fellowships in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Connecticut, Harvard–Massachusetts General Hospital, and Emory University. In addition, he completed a traveling fellowship in orthopedic trauma at Korea University in Seoul, South Korea.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Bhimani maintains a strong commitment to academic research. His studies focus on foot and ankle biomechanics, advanced imaging, and diagnostic innovation. He is currently pursuing a PhD at Amsterdam University Medical Centers, where he is researching the role of weight-bearing CT in diagnosing foot and ankle instability. His work has been published in leading orthopedic journals and presented at national and international conferences, including meetings of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society.
Dr. Bhimani is also passionate about education. He has led resident lectures, surgical skills labs, and ultrasound workshops, helping train the next generation of orthopedic surgeons. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society and other professional organizations worldwide.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Bhimani enjoys tennis, traveling, and exploring new cuisines. He brings his global experience, innovative mindset, and academic focus to advancing orthopedic foot and ankle care at UTHealth Houston.
