Biography

Danielle M. Hsu, MD, is an Assistant Professor at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) in the Department of Pediatric Surgery.  Dr. Hsu earned her medical degree at NYU School of Medicine in 2007.  She completed a residency in general surgery at University of California-Los Angeles School of Medicine and a fellowship in pediatric surgery at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.  Board certified in general surgery and pediatric surgery, Dr Hsu’s clinical interests center on congenital colorectal disease, including anorectal malformations, Hirschsprung disease, and cloaca. She is a part of the Texas Pediatric Colorectal Program at UTHealth, and is interested in the long term care of these patients with complex conditions whose needs change over time.  Dr. Hsu is also interested in general pediatric surgery, including neonatal diseases, oncology, minimally invasive surgery, and thoracic and abdominal surgery.  Dr. Hsu has been in practice in Houston since 2017.  She loves developing relationships with her patients and their families, and seeing her patients grow.  She believes in excellent communication and education for her patients and their families about their health conditions. Outside of her clinical practice, Dr. Hsu enjoys being a mother to her two daughters, reading, and spending time outdoors.
