Biography

Dr. Jason Au is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Urology at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He is a board certified, fellowship trained, pediatric urologist. He graduated cum laude from The University of Miami and received his medical degree from The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his urology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and completed his fellowship in pediatric urology at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. He also completed the Clinical Scientist Training Program at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Au is an active member of many national societies, including the American Urological Association, Society of Pediatric Urology, Society of Fetal Urology and the Endourological Society. He has authored numerous scientific papers and his research has been recognized nationally and internationally.

Dr. Au sees patients ages newborn to 18 years old, treating all pediatric urologic conditions, including congenital and acquired genitourinary abnormalities. Dr. Au is trained in the latest technology for minimally invasive surgeries such as robotic surgery and laparoendoscopic single site (LESS) surgery, which allows for faster recovery time, less pain and smaller scars for his patients.

Because every child is unique, Dr. Au uses a team approach for each child’s care, working with their pediatrician and their parents to create an individualized treatment plan. He uses an evidence-based approach and walks his patients through each step – initial consultation through final visit – with compassion and care.

Dr. Au enjoys spending his free time with his family including his two sons. He also enjoys photography, the outdoors, serving at church and playing basketball.
