Biography

Dr. Ostermayer completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Harbor-UCLA medical center and his EMS fellowship at the Houston Fire Department/UT Houston. He is dual subspecialty boarded in Clinical Informatics and Emergency Medical Services. He serves as Vice President for the OpenEM Foundation, a nonprofit that supports global emergency medicine educational resources and the WikEM project. He is deputy editor for WikEM.org and director of Software Development where he manages web and mobile applications. He is president of Null Publishing Group, an independent academic book publisher and also works for the Houston Fire Department as an Assistant Medical Director with a focus on research and clinical informatics. His research interests span prehospital care and the intersection of computer science and medicine. He is grant-funded by the Department of Defense as a site co-investigator for the Linking Investigations in Trauma and Emergency Services (LITES) and HRSA as an academic adviser for the Charlotte, Houston, and Milwaukee Prehospital EMS Research Node (CHaMP).
