SEO Overview

Wikipedia describes Search Engine Optimization (SEO) as:

… the process of growing the quality and quantity of website traffic by increasing the visibility of a website or a web page to users of a web search engine.

To help increase SEO, the Medical School has added the Yoast SEO WordPress plugin. This add-on guides content editors through a process that will aid our pages to become more discoverable. The add-on will appear as another box on each Page or Post in the Dashboard.

Before you begin filling out the Yoast SEO fields, be sure to index your website. This can be done by following the instructions located in this dialogue box:

Now you may begin filling in the Yoast SEO fields for each of your pages and posts. A new box should now appear:

Within the box are three tabs: SEO, Readability, and Social. Each tab will be covered in more detail on its own page.
