Program Coordinators

Program Coordinators are the backbone of graduate medical education at UTHealth Houston. Your expertise and dedication ensure that residency and fellowship programs run smoothly, accreditation standards are met, and residents, fellows, and faculty are fully supported. We are grateful for the essential role you play in advancing medical education and strengthening our learning community.

Our Commitment to You

The GME Office recognizes that coordinators are often the first point of contact and ongoing support for residents, fellows, and faculty. We are committed to providing resources that help you manage complex program responsibilities, stay current with accreditation requirements, and continue to grow professionally. Your role is essential in creating a stable foundation that allows programs and the trainees within them to succeed.

The Role of a Coordinator

Program Coordinators serve as vital partners to Program Directors, faculty, and trainees. They:

  • Manage the daily operations of residency and fellowship programs.
  • Ensure compliance with ACGME and institutional requirements.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and evaluations.
  • Coordinate rotations, schedules, and accreditation documentation.
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for residents, fellows, and faculty.

Your knowledge, organization, and leadership directly impact the success of your program and the professional development of our trainees.
