PLA Submissions & Timeline

Where are signed PLAs submitted?

The partially signed PLA, by the Program Director, must be submitted to Kristelle Grant Deterville to obtain signatures from:

  • the DIO, and
  • Senior Vice President for Academic and Faculty Affairs (where applicable)
    • NOTE: New & elective rotations require Goals & Objectives to be included with the PLA submission.

 

What is the timeline for getting PLA signed/ executed?

Please Note: If there are any modifications to any agreements, additional time will be needed for review and approval:
  • Please allow a minimum of 30 days for UTHealth templates without any changes.
    • Dependent on the required signatories (DIO and/ or the SVP for Academic  & Faculty Affairs)
  • Please allow a minimum of 30-60 days for UTHealth templates with changes or non-UTHealth forms.
  • Please allow a minimum of 60 days for Away Electives
    • Away Elective: All current UTHealth resident/fellow(s) interested in participating in an away elective rotation must complete the Away Elective – GME Application and submit the following documents to their program coordinator for additional processing.
    • International Elective: All resident/fellow(s) rotating outside the country must turn in their documents 60 days prior to the start of the rotation. Additional approval is required by the UT System Office in Austin for International PLI.
  • Please allow a minimum of 60-90 days for Visiting Electives
    • Visiting Elective: Visiting/Non-UTHealth residents/fellows MUST use our elective pre-registration forms.
