UT MSA Students Decorating the christmas tree in the lobby of UT Professional Building

Message from the Medical Director:

Our annual Scholars’ Day was on November 17, 2025, and provided our faculty and trainees with an excellent platform to showcase their research and innovative ideas. It was our privilege to have Dr. Alex Evers as our keynote speaker, and his address on the practice and science of medicine was very insightful. Dr. Eltzschig and I want to extend our gratitude to you all for attending and supporting the Department’s research mission.

The Pediatric Procedural Sedation Course was held on December 2 and wouldn’t have been possible without Monique and Salma – thank you both for all the work you put in! Also, a special thank you to Geanise for volunteering with the event. Geanise played the role of a procedural nurse in the simulation of a burns dressing change. Dr. Gangagharan is very grateful for your time and acting skills!

I caught the end of the MSA Chiefs decorating the holiday tree. It looks beautiful, thank you for staying after interviews and doing this!

And I will end by acknowledging that being a student in our program is a serious commitment. In fact, Charlie and I discussed today how we might be the most challenging MSA program, but that is ok because it will make you all the best CAAs. I appreciate all of you taking your role in the program seriously and representing us well. Be sure to find some time to rest and recharge during the holidays. I wish each of you a joyful holiday season!
