Dr. Payam Zandiyeh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
Dr. Zandiyeh, Ph.D., is directing the Biomotion Laboratory for preclinical and clinical research on the advancement of 3D imaging, in vivo, dynamic assessment of joint function, orthopedic biomechanics, and musculoskeletal modeling. This lab is focused on three main topics: (1) To investigate how bone and joint injuries, diseases impact their dynamic biomechanic function during daily tasks. (2) To improve diagnosis, treatment, and patient care for patients with orthopedic pathologies. (3) To provide a unique and positive learning and training environment for students, residents, and scholars and fellows to test new ideas and come up with new solutions to address orthopedic problems.
Dr. Zandiyeh received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology in Tehran. He completed his Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the Sharif University of Technology. He then completed his Ph.D. and post-doctoral fellowship in Mechanical Engineering at the Human Performance Lab and McCaig Institute of Bone and Health at the University of Calgary in Canada.
Dr. Zandiyeh is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Orthopaedic Research Society.
