He is fluent in English and Spanish, which allows him to connect with a wide range of patients.
A native Houstonian, Dr. Gonzales-Luna graduated as valedictorian of Lamar High School. He then attended Rice University, where he studied civil engineering and played NCAA Division I baseball as a four-year letter winner. Afterward, he pursued medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. There, he graduated at the top of his class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Following medical school, Dr. Gonzales-Luna remained at UTHealth for a five-year residency in orthopedic surgery. He then completed fellowship training in orthopedic trauma at the Reno Orthopedic Center in Nevada under Tim Bray, MD, and Peter Althausen, MD.
