Benefits & Resources

Accommodations

    • Nursing Mother Rooms
      • UTHealth offers a number of nursing mother rooms (locations) throughout campus for faculty and staff mothers who needs a private location to express milk during the workday. The rooms are card-reader accessible by having your ID badge coded for access.

Meeting Allotments

Each resident is allotted seven educational days annually to attend meetings of their choice that support their professional development. Additionally, the program covers the cost for all PGY1 residents to attend the AO Basic Fracture Course during the second half of their first year. Residents whose research is accepted for presentation at a subspecialty meeting are also eligible for additional funding to support their attendance.

As a chief resident, you will attend one board review course, such as the Miller Board Review course in Denver, Colorado.

Vacation

All residents are allotted 3 weeks (15 days) of vacation time.  This time must all be used during the current academic year; there is no carry forward or borrowing of vacation days.
