Benefits

Meeting Allotments

Seven educational days are allotted each year that are reserved for meeting attendance at the discretion of the residency program.  There are no required meetings with the exception of the AO Basic Fracture course which all PGY1 residents are scheduled to attend in the second half of the academic year.

As chief residents, the department will pay for each resident to attend one board review course. The most popular is either the AAOS course in Chicago or the Maine Board Review Course.

Vacation

All residents are allotted 3 weeks (15 days) of vacation time.  This time must all be used during the current academic year; there is no carry forward or borrowing of vacation days.  No more or less than seven (7) days of vacation may be taken at any one time.
