Evan G. Meeks, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
Dr. Meeks specializes in Sports Medicine, with an emphasis on arthroscopy and minimally invasive techniques for treating injuries of the shoulder, hip, and knee. During his training, Dr. Meeks worked extensively with professional and college teams in the Houston area, including the Houston Texans, Houston Rockets, Houston Astros, Houston Dynamo, and the University of Houston athletic program.
As a college athlete, Dr. Meeks has the unique ability to view injuries from both the athlete’s and the physician’s perspectives.

2009 – Ibuprofen non-covalently coupled with phospholipids. Investigating the efficacy and side effects of ibuprofen when coupled with phosphatidylcholine in fighting against the spread of murine colon cancer in a mouse model. Principal investigator: Lenard M. Lichtenberger.
2012 – Biofoam metal wedges in opening wedge osteotomies of the foot. Investigating the effects of using Biofoam metal wedges in opening wedge osteotomies of the foot versus the traditional bone grafting techniques for these osteotomies in literature. Principal investigator: William C. McGarvey.
2012 – Grade IIIB and IIIC Open Pilon Fracture Outcomes: A Retrospective Chart Review. Investigating the outcomes of open pilon fractures over a three-year period at a major trauma center. Principal investigator: Josh L. Gary.
2014 – Biomechanical Evaluation of ALL ligament in setting of ACL reconstruction. Measuring translation and rotation of knee before and after ACL reconstruction with intact and deficient ALL. Principal investigator: Walt R. Lowe.
