Ran Lador, MD, is an associate professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
He specializes in the surgical care of complex spinal disorders and orthopedic trauma, with expertise in spinal trauma and tumors, metastatic spine disease, degenerative spinal disorders, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, myelopathy, and revision spinal surgery. He also has advanced training in minimally invasive spine surgery and the use of 3D printing technology in complex spine cases.
Board-certified by the Israeli Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Lador has trained and practiced at some of the world’s leading institutions. He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Hadassah Medical School. He completed his orthopedic residency at Sourasky Tel-Aviv Medical Center, affiliated with Tel-Aviv University in Israel.
With a dedicated focus on spine oncology, Dr. Lador completed a fellowship at the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute in Bologna, Italy, a global leader in spine oncology. He later served as an attending spine surgeon at Tel-Aviv Medical Center, where he pioneered 3D printing technology in spine surgery, including implanting the first 3D-printed lumbar vertebra in a living patient.
Dr. Lador further advanced his expertise through a fellowship in spine neurosurgical oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
An active member of the North American Spine Society, the Israeli Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and the Israeli Spine Society, Dr. Lador contributes to advancing spine care worldwide. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on spine trauma, spine tumors, revision surgery, and emerging surgical technologies. He also serves as a reviewer for leading spine and oncology journals.
