Welcome to McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Department of Orthopedic Surgery. The Department of Orthopedics is emerging as a national leader in education, research and clinical practice and we take great pride in our exceptionally talented team of Orthopedic Surgeons and related Providers in the department. Through our partnership with Memorial Hermann and Harris Health District, the department is redefining the future of Orthopedic Care.

For prospective students, residents and fellows the educational opportunities are unrivaled across the country. Whether working in one of the nation’s busiest level one trauma center under internationally renowned surgeons, learning cutting edge Total Joint Arthroplasty techniques from the surgeons who developed them, or standing on the sidelines of our local professional, college and high school teams learning from international leaders in Sports Medicine; your educational experience will set a foundation you will respect and benefit from your entire career.

In addition to our educational component, the Department has responded to the market of SE Texas and established the highest quality group of surgeons and providers to care for the rapidly growing population of the region. Now seeing patients out of 26 clinics across the Greater Houston Area, we are rapidly emerging as the provider of choice for all orthopedic care in the region, and expect to care for over 100,000 patient visits this year alone. We value taking time with our patients, and providing the highest quality conservative care to get our patients back to their desired activity as reliably as possible. It is an honor to serve the residents of the region and we will strive to continue to earn their trust for taking care of their orthopedic needs.

I want to thank you for visiting our site, whether you are a prospective medical student or a prospective patient; we hope you choose to provide us the opportunity of being your partner, educator, or care provider.
