Autopsy
Our Autopsy Service at Memorial Hermann Hospital Texas Medical Center (MHH-TMC) and Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital (LBJ) is dedicated to providing comprehensive post-mortem examinations and detailed reports. Led by Dr. Bihong Zhao, our team of experienced pathologists is committed to offering answers to families, supporting clinical teams, and contributing valuable data to public health efforts.
We conduct thorough autopsies that encompass meticulous external and internal examinations, histological analysis, and advanced ancillary testing as needed. Our objective is to determine the cause of death accurately, identify any underlying conditions, and uncover contributing factors. This process not only provides closure and clarity to grieving families but also supports the continuous improvement of medical care by identifying trends and potential areas for intervention.
Our service places a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality and timely reports. These reports are comprehensive, yet clear and concise, ensuring that the information is accessible and useful to both families and healthcare providers. By providing detailed insights into the circumstances and causes of death, we help clinical teams refine their practices and enhance future patient outcomes.
In addition to aiding individual cases, our autopsy findings contribute to broader public health data. By identifying patterns in disease and mortality, we play a critical role in informing public health initiatives and shaping preventative measures. This data is vital for understanding the impact of diseases, guiding public health policies, and improving community health standards.
At MHH-TMC and LBJ Hospitals, our Autopsy Service is dedicated to advancing medical knowledge, supporting bereaved families, and improving patient care. Our team diligently works to provide insights and compassionate service during difficult times, while also contributing to the broader goal of enhancing public health and medical practices.
