The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at McGovern Medical School UTHealth offers exceptional clinical pathology services. Our board-certified pathologists possess sub-specialty training and certifications in areas such as hematopathology, transfusion medicine, molecular pathology, and clinical chemistry. Our clinical pathology services are provided at Memorial Hermann Hospital-Texas Medical Center and Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital. At MHH-TMC, a premier teaching hospital, we offer a wide range of services, including hematopathology, transfusion medicine, and clinical chemistry. We provide in-house flow cytometry interpretation for hematopathology, ensuring timely and accurate diagnostic information. In transfusion medicine, we offer apheresis and red blood cell exchange services, critical for managing various hematologic conditions. The hospital’s advanced facilities and diverse patient population enhance our diagnostic capabilities and support innovative research.

LBJ, a full-service general hospital operated by Harris Health, extends our reach. Here, our pathologists manage a broad spectrum of pathology cases, benefiting from the hospital’s diverse patient demographics. Additionally, we operate UTPath, our outreach laboratory service, with a focus on molecular pathology within Clinical Pathology.
