Medical Humanities Alum Publishes Paper Applying Appreciative Inquiry

December 21, 2023

Isaac Chua, MD, MPH, recently published a study, “What Went Right? A Mixed-Methods Study of Positive Feedback Data in a Hospital-Wide Mortality Review Survey,” in the Journal of General Internal Medicine. The study uses appreciative inquiry, an analysis model that aims to focus on the positive and successful elements of systems and organizations. Chua and colleagues used the method to explore positive feedback from healthcare workers in a mortality review survey.

Chua graduated with the Class of 2010 from McGovern Medical School (then known as The University of Texas Medical School at Houston) and the Medical Humanities Certificate Program (now a scholarly concentration).
