Amy Lucille Christmas, M.D., ’98,  passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the age of 45. Although a resident of Fairhope, AL,  Amy was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She completed her undergraduate degree at Loyola University in New Orleans and went on to medical school at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston (now McGovern Medical School). She completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas in San Antonio. Amy loved her children, husband, and life. One of her many passions was running and watching sunsets. She was a dedicated ophthalmologist at Southern Eye Group in Fairhope. She is survived by her husband, Scott Christmas of Fairhope; children, Houston Prewett, Ella Prewett, Kaylea Christmas, and Sunshine, all of Fairhope; parents, Richard and Ann Mize of Houston, TX; sister, Molly Atlas (Scott); niece and nephew, Carter and Rachael Atlas, all of Houston, TX; in-laws, Joan and Charlie Christmas of Mobile, AL; sister-in-law, Lisa Prunkl (John) of Marietta, GA; brother-in-law, Patrick Christmas (Kelsey) of Winter Park, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and classmates.
