Arturo Bonilla, M.D. (Class of ’89) was featured in the New York Times for performing the world’s first ear cartilage transplant using a 3-D Bioprinter. The patient’s cartilage cells were harvested and grown into billions of cells and an ear was then 3-D printed with cartilage cells with subsequent successful implantation into a patient with microtia.
