John Kollen Blevins, M.D., ’73

He was born March 4, 1948, in Beaumont to Hugh and Wilhelmina Blevins. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He attended Texas Christian University and the United States Air Force Academy. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He completed medical school at the McGovern Medical School (formerly University of Texas Medical School at Houston). He married Cynthia Ann Carameros on June 16, 1973, in Houston. He was a pediatrician in Conroe and at Scott & White Memorial Hospital. He was the clinical director for medical students and was the program director for the Medical Pediatric Residency program. He served on the admissions committee for Texas A&M Medical School. He also was the director of Southland Villa Children’s Nursing Home.
