Mission and Goals

Mission

Our mission is to develop highly skilled Advanced Practice Providers who deliver evidence-based, patient-centered, and team-based cardiovascular care across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Program Goals

By completion of the fellowship, graduates will be able to:

  • Deliver high-quality, specialized care
  • Provide efficient and guideline-directed management of cardiovascular disease in ambulatory and inpatient settings
  • Manage high-acuity cardiovascular conditions
  • Evaluate and treat common and complex conditions including:
    • Acute coronary syndromes
    • Arrhythmias
    • Acute and chronic heart failure
    • Cardiogenic shock
    • Post-procedural complications
  • Develop critical care cardiology competency
  • Demonstrate proficiency in ICU-level cardiovascular management including:
    • Hemodynamic interpretation
    • Mechanical circulatory support concepts
    • Escalation pathways for unstable cardiovascular patients
  • Practice within interdisciplinary teams
  • Communicate effectively with cardiologists, surgeons, intensivists, nurses, and allied health professionals
  • Contribute to healthcare quality and safety
  • Complete a measurable quality improvement or scholarly project and present a capstone at the end of the fellowship
