Biography

Morgan is originally from Mobile, Alabama. During her senior year of high school, Morgan’s dad was diagnosed with a gastrointestinal stromal tumor and received treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas which ultimately led her to want to pursue a nursing degree and enter the medical field. After graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi, Morgan moved back to Mobile where she worked on a medical oncology and stem cell transplant unit. A year later, Morgan received a job offer in medical oncology in a step-down ICU unit at Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center and moved to Houston to continue her nursing career. Morgan advanced her skill set throughout the medicine service including areas of oncology, medical-surgical, geriatrics, ICU step-down, respiratory ICU, and medical ICU while going to nurse practitioner school. In 2018, Morgan completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in acute adult and gerontology nurse practitioner from Texas Woman’s University. Given her personal experience with GI and her dad’s diagnosis, she accepted a job with the iGUT team shortly after graduation. Morgan assisted with the expansion of iGUT at Memorial Hermann-Greater Heights Hospital.

Morgan and her husband, Josh, have two sons, Luke, and Logan. They enjoy hiking, traveling, and being outdoors.
