The Department of Pathology offers competitive Resident and Fellow Benefits:

Insurance and Coverage:
- Residents and Fellows receive medical and life insurance at no cost.
- Elective dental and vision coverage is available, as well as coverage for dependents.
- Professional liability insurance is provided at no cost.
Educational and scholarly support:
- The department awards each Resident and Fellow a book fund of $1200 annually.
- Additional compensation is provided for submitting and presenting abstracts at meetings, with further funding for published manuscripts.
- Residents and Fellows receive five educational leave days per year for attending conferences or board examinations.
Work Environment:
- Trainees are supplied with office space with private desks and computers.
- Lab coats and pagers are provided free of cost.
- Subsidized parking is provided within the Texas Medical Center.
Resident wellness:
- Trainees are allotted three weeks of vacation per year, plus generous sick leave and FMLA benefits.
- UTHealth Auxiliary Enterprises provides a recreation center with free membership for residents and fellows.
- The Fellow and Resident Assistance Program offers services to assist in work-life balance and mental well-being.
