Patrick Holden, M.D., ’73

Patrick Holden, M.D., ’73 passed away on January 15, 2016. He is survived by his wife Sarah; his children Carlos (wife Karen Grund), Rachel, and Kathleen (husband Wayne Kirk); his grandchildren Arianna, Daniela, Annalyse, Matt, Elliot, and Laurie; his mother Guadalupe Holden; his brothers William, David, and Richard; and his sister Carmen. Pat grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After serving in the Air Force for four years, he received his M.D. at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston (now known as McGovern Medical School at UTHealth) and worked as a faculty child psychiatrist at the UT Health Science Center for over 30 years. He was a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Child Psychiatry. Pat served on many Epiphany teams at Texas juvenile detention units and served as President of the Epiphany state board. He was a faithful member of University United Methodist Church for almost 40 years.
