Biography

Dr. Angelo Nascimbene graduated with honors from Universita’ Statale di Milano (Italy), where he earned his medical degree. In Houston, Texas, he completed his residency at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and fellowships in cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine. He then completed his advanced heart failure and transplant fellowship at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.

Dr. Nascimbene is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, nuclear cardiology, and adult echocardiography.

As Assistant Professor in the Center for Advanced Cardiopulmonary Therapies and Transplantation at UTHealth Houston, his clinical and research interests include coronary and structural interventions, device management in cardiogenic shock, ventricular assist device therapy complications with a particular focus on LVAD induced coagulopathy.
