Kha Dinh, MD

Biography

Dr. Kha Dinh started his journey at UTHealth in 2007 as a medical student, where he stayed and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. His main focus now is caring for critically ill patients at Memorial Hermann Hospital – Texas Medical Center’s Heart and Vascular Institute, where he works among a large multidisciplinary team taking care of adult heart failure patients with mechanical devices.

His clinical and research interests include veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), ARDS, and pleural diseases. He is a sub-investigator in the VENT-AVOID trial, examining the use of extracorporeal carbon dioxide removal in acute hypercapnic respiratory failure in patients with acute COPD exacerbation.

He is a course director of the 4th-year medical student Required Critical Care Course and participates in teaching during the McGovern Medical School Pulmonary Module. In addition, the preceptor’s 2nd-year medical students in his pulmonary clinic throughout the year. Along with his clinical duties, he enjoys and takes much pride in mentoring and contributing to the education and clerkship of McGovern’s medical students, residents, and fellows.

Outside of the hospital setting, Dr. Dinh enjoys spending time with his family and friends, puzzles, astronomy, traveling, and working out.
