Biography

Dr. Cesar Nahas received his medical degree from Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon. Under the leadership of Dr. Michael DeBakey, he then completed an internship, a general and cardiothoracic surgery residency and a cardiovascular surgery fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

Board certified in thoracic surgery, Dr. Nahas has extensive expertise in adult cardiac and thoracic surgery in addition to vascular and endovascular surgery.

Prior to Dr. Nahas being appointed medical director of the Cardiac Surgery Program at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital, he was in private practice in the Clear Lake region for 20 years.  Dr. Nahas can be credited for creating and growing the cardiac care services in the Clear Lake and Southeast region of Houston. After finishing his training, Dr. Nahas was a full-time faculty member at Baylor College of Medicine and was chief of the Cardiac Surgery Program at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston.

He is a member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS), the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery (ISMICS) and the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association (STSA).

In his free time, Dr. Nahas enjoys traveling, music, high-performance car racing and especially spending time with his family.
