The Denicourt Lab is starting 2025 with some exciting achievements!
Sseu-Pei Hwang, a graduate student in the lab, has been honored with the esteemed R.W. Butcher Student Achievement Scholarship from GSBS. This award celebrates GSBS students who have demonstrated outstanding research achievements and societal contributions, all while upholding the highest ethical standards. Congratulations, Sseu-Pei!
Additionally, the lab has published a new article in Cell ReportsĀ on the role of tRNA modifications in their functions, such as decoding, folding, and stability. Using eCLIP-seq and nanopore tRNA-seq investigators were able to show that the human tRNA methyltransferase TRMT1L interacts with the Rix1 ribosome biogenesis complex and binds to 28S rRNA and certain tRNAs.
