The Social Connections Program brings together faculty and partners from geriatric medicine, neurology, nursing, psychology, public health, and humanities to address social isolation and loneliness in older adults. Our team connects students with older adults through research-informed outreach, education, and clinical innovation.

Dr. Burnett leads the Social Connections Program and studies social isolation and loneliness, elder mistreatment, self-neglect, and home-based care for older adults. His work includes medical student–led social phone calls, health professional student social visits, and technology-enabled support for homebound elders.
