USB Drives

All USB drives and Portable Hard Drives must be encrypted. The following products have been approved for purchase and use at the Medical School:

• Kingston DataTraveler Vault Privacy 3.0 USB Stick Drive
  FIPS 197 certified XTS level security encrypted USB thumb/flash Drive – available in 4 gb, 8 gb, 16 gb, 32 gb and 64 gb sizes.

• SanDisk Professional G-DRIVE ArmorLock Portable Solid State Drive (SSD)
  USB-C based portable hard drive. Unlocks from a phone app using your phone’s biometric authentication, or from your computer. Compatible with Windows, Mac, Android or iOS devices. 256 bit AES-XTS hardware encryption, 3 meter drop protection, 1000 pound crush protection, IP67 dust and water resistance. Available in 1 tb, 2 tb, and 4 tb sizes.

• Apricorn Aegis Padlock Portable Hard Drive
  Keypad-based 128 or 256 Bit encrypted portable or external hard drive – available in sizes from 500 gb to 2+ tb. Some models are also available as solid state drives (SSDs) at higher pricing.

• Apricorn Aegis USB Stick Drive
  Keypad-based encrypted USB thumb/flash drive – available in 8 gb, 16 gb, 32 gb and larger sizes. Can be used on older Windows 7 based computers that are unable to accept other approved devices.

Smartphones and Tablets

• Apple iPads are supported by MSIT and can be purchased using certain University funds. Contact your LAN Manager for details.
