UTHealth Neurosciences Neurocognitive Disorders Center

The UTHealth Neurosciences Neurocognitive Disorders Center (NDC) is a multidisciplinary clinic specializing in the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of patients with neurological and psychological disorders affecting memory, thinking, and other cognitive functions, including Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, vascular disorders such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and psychological conditions such as depression and anxiety.

The faculty at the NDC is comprised of neurologists and neuropsychologists dedicated to providing patient-centered care, educating our patients and their families about the causes of neurocognitive and psychological dysfunction and potential treatment options, and increasing prevention awareness. Faculty within the Center also conduct cutting-edge research focused on early detection of neurodegenerative diseases underlying dementia, improving diagnostic accuracy, and disease-modifying interventions.

The faculty’s clinical and research interests include dementias, cerebrovascular disease, stroke, movement disorders (such as Parkinson’s & Huntington’s disease), autoimmune disorders (such as multiple sclerosis), treatment-resistant depression, and general neuropsychology issues.

Neuropsychology Services

The Neuropsychology Clinic also sees patients with several other disorders, including traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors, and capacity/competency issues such as return to work, driving evaluations, and financial/medical decision making capacity.

Our primary location is the Neurocognitive Disorders Center located in the Texas Medical Center, and we also provide neuropsychological services at the Center for Healthy Aging in Bellaire, TX.

Insurance Coverage

UTHealth Neurosciences accepts all major insurances. You may be responsible for a copay or deductible at the time of your appointment. While we will likely investigate insurance coverage, it is not guaranteed. It is suggested that you check with your insurance company to see if coverage is allowable for neuropsychological evaluations and interventions.
