Patient Education

UTHealth Neurosciences is committed to providing our patients with the highest quality of care and service. Our clinic is part of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), which brings together a team of world-class clinicians, researchers and educators whose insights and research findings are transforming the field of neuroscience. Patients come to us from around the world for treatment of rare and common diseases of the brain and spinal cord. Our team appreciates the opportunity to provide you with exceptional care.

What to Bring to Your Appointment

If it is your first time visiting our clinic, please fill out the online Patient Portal before you arrive. Bring the following items to your appointment, in addition to anything requested by your specific provider team:

  • Any relevant medical records
  • Your insurance card(s)
  • Your photo ID

All patients must complete the required forms by logging in before their first appointment. Patients who do not complete the forms prior to their appointment may be rescheduled to avoid delays in care, so please try to complete these beforehand.

Patient Portals

If you’ve already scheduled your first appointment, you should have received an invitation to join MyUTHealth. This patient portal will help our clinicians and staff provide you with the best care possible, and allow you to send secure questions or updates to us.

If you did not receive an activation code, you can also sign up online here. You can then match yourself with our records or verify identity with a third party. After successful verification, you can create your own username and password.

Our Team

Our group includes nurse practitioners, physician assistants, medical assistants, and many others who will help with your care. You will likely see multiple caregivers, and we know that you will enjoy working with everyone here.

At some clinics in our group, we may also have a resident or medical student present for patient visits. This is a part of our educational program at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, and is important to our mission of training the neuroscience specialists of the future. Please keep in mind that the involvement of trainees can enhance patient care, and it helps the teacher remain up to date.
