Kathleen Atkins

Senior Support Specialist

Kathleen Atkins first began working at McGovern Medical School in 1986. As the senior support specialist, Kathy is always ready to assist clients with a smile. She has more than 20 years of experience, and prior to joining the team she worked as an executive assistant in the Department of Surgery and the Division of Plastic Surgery and is regarded as a go-to source of knowledge for all things Medical School. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Kathy’s family first moved to Houston when she was four years old, and she has a daughter and numerous nieces and nephews here and another daughter who lives in Dallas.

Kathy enjoys participating in Fall craft shows, painting and decorating landscape timber reindeer, snowmen, pilgrims, and other pieces, and writing poetry. She enjoys anything Tex-Mex and her favorite movies are Gone With The Wind and The Way We Were.
