The Office of Communications provides internal communications for McGovern Medical School, including a weekly e-newsletter, Scoop; news for the website; management of social media; an annual report; Fact book brochure; and Institute of Molecular Medicine publication.

Submit your news to [email protected] the week prior to when you want it to appear in the weekly internal newsletter for McGovern Medical School. Scoop is emailed each Thursday.

Professional communication services – writing and editing – are available on a fee-for-service basis to programs and departments at a rate of $75/hour.

A fixed rate of $75/per hour is charged for all graphic design services.

Our expert photographers strive to put you in the best light. With a studio conveniently located in the basement of the Medical School Building and the ability to bring a full-service photoshoot on location, we offer a variety of services.

Using our new HP Designjet Z6800 large-format printer, the Office of Communications offers printing and design of research posters with quick and expert turnaround. All posters are printed on glossy photo-quality paper. Poster accessories – including Velcro, push pins, printed proofs, and carrying tubes – also are available.

Timeline

Normal turnaround time for printing a poster is 2 working days. Priority Service is available for clients requesting posters with less than a two-working-day turnaround. Priority Service will be charged as the cost of the poster + 50%.

Help Eliminate Printing Issues

In Microsoft PowerPoint, please do not use the transparency function and refrain from using the MS PowerPoint automatic drop shadow on your poster. This can result in printing problems. Also refrain from grouping several items together (ie.: text, chart, boxes). This can result in printing problems.

 

Design Help

If you are unable to create your poster, we offer services to design the poster for you. The extra cost for this service will be the standard hourly design rate of $75. Also, allow at least two EXTRA days of design time for us to complete your project.

Our video team specializes in visual storytelling through short films. Whether you’re highlighting advancements in research, sharing a heartwarming patient story, or capturing highlights from an event, we have the vision and experience to create compelling viewing experiences for your audience.
